Let's get something out of the way. I am not good at online games. Of any sort, really. Whether it's Call of Duty, FIFA, or Mario Kart, I lose and I lose badly. In fact, the only time in my entire life I can remember being good at an online game is for a brief period of time when Football Manager Online existed and life was better. Oh, the good old days. The point is, I've fallen out of love with online games, and shooters in particular. Whereas I played a LOT of Halo 2 back in the day, today I find myself headshotted into a miserable malaise if I try to check out the latest trendsetter. Chivalry 2 isn't like this. I'm playing it and - wait for it - having fun.

Chivalry 2 is a first-person online multiplayer action with a medieval setting that sets it apart from online shooters. The hack-and-slash nature of the game gives the chaotic brutality of this title an arcade feel that's easy to pick up for just about anyone.

Chivalry 2 does not have a single-player campaign mode. The bulk of the game is centered around online multiplayer combat. However, Chivalry 2 does feature a single-player practice mode that can be played offline.

In other words, Chivalry 2 is not really designed as a single-player experience. Instead, its online multiplayer supports large-scale battles of up to 64 players. Its first-person slashing combat is focused around the Agatha Knights and the Mason Order, where players of opposing factions fight under various rule sets.

Products with online multiplayer functionality must support crossplay across all PC storefronts in order to be distributed on the Epic Games Store. The game modes offered are the somewhat standard fare for a online multiplayer game such as this. Defend a point, death matches, and payload escort missions are the bedrock of the offerings. Chivalry 2 is an epic online multiplayer game pitting players against each other in brutal, often-hilarious medieval-inspired combat. After a year of consistent post-launch support, Chivalry 2 is finally launching on Steam, alongside the game's largest, horse-themed update yet: Tenosian Invasion.

Once you're in the main menu, look to the bottom left for a button that says 'Invite party members' or to the bottom right where it says 'Social'. They both take you to the party menu where you can click on friends that are online and invite them on the right-hand side of the screen where it says 'Invite to party'.
